Artist Statement
Through landscapes and abstracts, I explore the subtleties of light, colour and texture. Seeking to capture moments that feel both gentle and alive. Working in acrylics, I layer colour and texture to create atmosphere. Allowing the viewer to pause and linger, to feel rather than simply see. Each brushstroke is intentional, each palette chosen to evoke serenity, contemplation and emotional connection. My work is for those who value a tactile authenticity, meaning and beauty that endures. It is meant to harmonize with your space, offering a pause in a busy world, a quiet companion to your home or personal sanctuary. In every painting, I hope to invite reflection, to spark a personal story and to connect viewers to a softer, more mindful way of seeing the world.

Field Of Flowers
A landscape stitched from memory unfolds in textured layers. It feels both familiar and imagined, a countryside shaped into something abstract and timeless. There is no name for this place, no clear point on a map, but there is still this feeling of recognition, a stillness that lingers like the memory of a dream.
Abstracts
Taking a step back. Calming down. This collection started in autumn, a beautiful time for reflection and introspection. Going within and looking back at the learnings and experiences of previous works, blending different techniques. Celebrating my love for colour and texture.

My Story
In General
My work grows from a deep fascination with nature, colour, texture and light. The quiet forces that shape both landscape and emotion. I create abstract and imagined worlds using a process I developed over time. Layering fibres, grout, fabric, paper and acrylic paint to build surfaces that feel tactile and alive. I was born in Hoorn, The Netherlands, and my path into art has always been guided by curiosity. It was through making: Through the feel of materials in my hands, that I found my true direction. My paintings now live in private collections across Europe and beyond. After creating large abstract works, my attention has now turned more closely to the natural world, creating landscapes inspired by the places I’ve called home. Having lived in both the Netherlands and the UK, I’m continually drawn to depicting their light, horizons and moods. Each piece I make is a reflection of that in-between space, where memory meets imagination, and where the textures of the natural world become a language of their own.

For me painting is about creating a new state of being. I never feel more connected with myself and the here and now, than when I give myself permission to drift. Starting a painting is like a journey unfolding. Opening a book on it’s first page or taking that first step. The anticipation and acceptance that the journey has begun. To get lost in order to find yourself. Transported to a place where there is no need to explain anything or answer any question. To just dive in to that feeling that exists somewhere between reality and memory. The whole process is simultaneously subtle and bold, complex and simple, planned and spontaneous. I truly love that moment when something timeless and contemporary appears. I feel most centered whilst painting, so the whole process has a meditative and contemplative quality to it. I often combine acrylic paint with several mediums, such as gels and pastes on canvas. When working on these pieces, either with a brush, spatula or via poring methods, I introduce colour and contrast until the first stage of a piece feels right and finished. In the second stage I let the emerged shapes lead me towards an intuitive, slow and delicate build up of layers and arrangements until all individual parts feel balanced and play the right supporting role in the overall composition. My love for art and creation lies in this second stage. It pushes and pulls the creative process within my own artistic journey: Letting my love for the materials, different techniques and the drive to create out, whilst always providing new insights and moments of learning and reflection. Some paintings only come together after many layers have been applied, amplified or subdued and I have to be alert and in tune with my work to see and not miss those important phases.
In Nederlands
Vlieg! Maak! Leef!
